Installation Instructions in Linux

Note: Download the setup file (FLUIDSTRUCTURES_2025R2_LINX64.tgz) from the CIC software repo.

  1. Untar the setup file “FLUIDSTRUCTURES_2025R2_LINX64.tgz” using the command:
    tar -xvzf FLUIDSTRUCTURES_2025R2_LINX64.tgz
  2. Install prerequisite packages as per your Linux OS (refer to the Ansys help site) using the command:
    sudo apt-get install <paste all prerequisite packages>
  3. Go inside the extracted directory.
  4. Type ./INSTALL and then press Enter.
  5. Click on “Install Ansys Products”.
  6. Check the box “I Agree” and then click on “Next”.
  7. Change the path to a location with sufficient space (e.g., /home/user). Click Next.
  8. Check all the boxes under "Application" then click on Next.
  9. Select the first option to manually make the selection.
  10. Unselect NX Geometry Interface then click Next.
  11. Click on Next to start the process.
  12. Wait until the process completes. Then click on Next.
  13. Uncheck “Launch Survey”. Then click on Exit.
  14. Enable the License setting. Enter Port (1055) and Server (ansys.iitkgp.ac.in). Test once, then Save.
  15. To verify installation, go to the binary directory:
    cd /home/user/ansys_inc/v252/fluent/bin
    ./fluent
  16. Click on Start.
  17. Verify that the message “Connected License Server List: 1055@ansys.iitkgp.ac.in” appears in the console.
